Air China Launches Flights on the Beijing-Reykjavik Route

China’s flag carrier, Air China, launched its new route from Beijing Capital International Airport to Iceland’s capital, Reykjavik (Keflavik International Airport), with a stopover in Copenhagen, effective October 26, 2026.
Operating the route’s inaugural flight, the aircraft designated as CA807 departed from Beijing on October 26 and arrived at its transit point in Copenhagen at 06:22 local time. Following a brief layover in Copenhagen, the aircraft took off again and landed in Iceland at 12:03 local time. The first flight was welcomed at Keflavik Airport with a traditional water salute.
Wide-body Airbus A330-300 aircraft will operate on the new route. The flights, scheduled under flight numbers CA807 and CA808, will run three times a week on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
The continued ability of Chinese airlines to use Russian airspace offers them a significant competitive advantage over their rivals in terms of flight duration and operational costs. This situation is considered a supporting factor for Chinese carriers’ strategies to expand their flight networks in the European market.
