Dismantling Begins on Azimuth Aircraft Damaged in Antalya Incident

The dismantling process has begun for the RA-89085 registered Azimuth Airlines Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft, which caught fire following a hard landing at Antalya Airport on November 24, 2024.

➡️ The Russian carrier’s aircraft, operating a flight from Sochi to Antalya, caught fire after the left main landing gear partially collapsed during landing, causing a fuel leak. All 87 passengers and 4 crew members on board were safely evacuated.

The 9-year-old aircraft had been actively operating in Azimuth Airlines’ fleet prior to the incident. Reports indicate the jet had previously made an emergency landing due to a hydraulic system malfunction and had remained parked at Antalya Airport since the accident.
