Warren Buffett’s company Berkshire Hathaway has acquired approximately $2.6 billion worth of shares in Delta Air Lines. According to the company’s first-quarter portfolio filing, Berkshire now holds 39.8 million Delta shares, representing a stake of around 6.1%.
➡️ The move is being viewed as Berkshire Hathaway’s return to the airline sector after fully exiting airline stocks during the pandemic in 2020. Delta shares also rose in after-hours trading following the disclosure of the investment.
Berkshire also increased its stake in Alphabet during the same period, while reportedly exiting positions in Amazon, Visa, Mastercard and UnitedHealth Group.
