Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian announced that attacks targeting neighbouring countries will cease. According to the decision taken by the Iranian leadership, neighbouring states will not be targeted unless an attack on Iran originates from their territory.
In remarks carried by Iranian media, Pezeshkian also apologised to neighbouring countries for the strikes that took place in recent days. The decision is seen as an attempt to prevent further escalation of tensions in the region.
Meanwhile, explosions were reportedly heard in the sky over Doha, the capital of Qatar, shortly after the announcement, and air defence systems were activated. The blasts were believed to be linked to a possible interception, although details of the incident remain unclear.
