American aircraft manufacturer Boeing has officially ended production of the 777-300ER, the best-selling widebody passenger jet in aviation history. According to the Air Current portal, the program was closed after only one delivery was made in 2024.
From now on, the company will focus its production capacity on the new-generation 777X family and shift the 777 program toward cargo aircraft.
Entering service in 2004, the 777-300ER played a groundbreaking role in long-haul aviation for 21 years. With a range of over 13,600 kilometers and seating capacity for 392 passengers in a two-class configuration, it became one of the most preferred aircraft for intercontinental routes.
At the heart of the aircraft, the GE90 engines set new standards for fuel efficiency and safety in twin-engine long-haul flights. Thanks to this, the model joined the fleets of hundreds of airlines worldwide, striking a balance between low operating costs and passenger comfort.
