KLM Airlines Ground Staff to Strike at Schiphol

KLM ground staff will stage a two-hour strike at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport on September 10. The walkout is scheduled to take place between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m.
Employees argue that the recently signed collective labor agreement is insufficient. The deal includes a 2.25% pay raise, a one-time €750 payment, and an expanded early retirement scheme, but unions FNV and CNV say it does not address rising inflation or the issue of temporary contracts.
While flight cancellations are not expected, passengers may face delays. The strike is seen as part of the ongoing tense negotiations between KLM and unions that have been dragging on for months.
