KLM Takes Delivery of First Airbus A350-900

Dutch flag carrier KLM has taken delivery of its first Airbus A350-900 in Toulouse as part of its fleet renewal programme. The A350, a new aircraft type for KLM, will be deployed on long-haul services from its Amsterdam Schiphol Airport hub, including flights to destinations such as Toronto.

KLM’s new A350-900 accommodates 331 passengers in a three-class configuration, featuring 34 Business Class suites with direct aisle access, 26 Premium Comfort seats and 271 Economy Class seats. The aircraft is equipped with the Airbus Airspace cabin, featuring larger overhead baggage compartments, advanced cabin lighting and high-speed satellite connectivity.

Powered by Rolls-Royce engines, the A350-900 offers a nonstop range of up to 18,000 kilometres. According to Airbus, the A350 family had received more than 1,620 orders from 69 customers worldwide by the end of August 2026.
