Alligator Wanders onto Apron at Orlando Airport: Passes Near JetBlue Aircraft

Unusual scenes were recorded at Orlando International Airport (MCO) in Florida, United States. An alligator entering the apron during the evening hours moved freely across the aircraft parking area.
During the incident, while a JetBlue Airbus A320 passenger aircraft was undergoing pushback, the alligator on the apron continued on its way, passing behind the aircraft. Noticing the situation, airport patrol units headed to the area with their vehicles and monitored the animal from a controlled distance.
Due to the high concentration of lakes, wetlands, and drainage canals across Florida, wildlife activity occasionally occurs around airport perimeters. Wildlife and operations teams on duty around the clock at airports such as Orlando carry out regular patrols to mitigate potential risks on runways and taxiways and to prevent disruptions to ground traffic.
It was reported that the alligator was safely removed from the operational area and no disruptions occurred to flight operations.
