VIP Flight from Abu Dhabi to Tehran: Aircraft Allegedly Carried Two Tonnes of Gold

A UAE-based Boeing 737 VIP aircraft reportedly operated a flight from Abu Dhabi to Tehran. According to a post by The Hormuz Report citing flight tracking data, this was the fourth flight on a similar route since June.

The report alleged that the aircraft, registered A6-RJA, transported cash and approximately two tonnes of gold worth $283 million during flights to Tehran and Karaj on August 11 and 12, as part of the return of Iran’s frozen assets. However, the purpose of the flights and details of the alleged cargo have not been independently verified.

Reuters previously reported, citing sources, that the United Arab Emirates had agreed to facilitate the transfer of billions of dollars in funds to Iran. The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs denied those reports, stating that no frozen Iranian funds had been released or transferred.
