U.S. President Donald Trump commented on the Boeing 737 MAX following the incident involving a flydubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv.
In a post on social media, Trump praised the aircraft’s structural design and engineering, saying the Boeing 737 MAX had demonstrated its ability to withstand G-forces and structural loads well beyond those anticipated in its design. Trump also congratulated Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg and the company’s employees.
Trump made the comments following the September 30 incident involving a Boeing 737 MAX 8 operating flydubai flight FZ1073. The aircraft experienced a rapid loss of altitude following an incident in the cockpit and made an emergency landing in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. During the incident, the aircraft lost more than 17,000 feet of altitude in a short period after descending from around 34,000 feet.
