Trump Authorizes Direct U.S. Flights to Lebanon

U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that he has directed his administration to allow U.S. airlines to operate direct flights to Lebanon following his meeting with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun.

In a post on social media, Trump praised Aoun for his efforts to transform the country, saying the decision would make it easier for Americans to visit Lebanon. He also expressed hope that other countries would take similar steps.

U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy responded to Trump’s announcement by saying, “You got it, Mr. President.”

There are currently no scheduled nonstop passenger flights between the United States and Lebanon. Further details, including which airlines will operate the routes and when flights could begin, are expected to be announced in the coming months.
