Trump Administration Discusses Rescue Package for Spirit

According to U.S. media reports, the Trump administration is in advanced talks over a rescue package worth around $500 million for Spirit Airlines, which is facing financial difficulties.
The proposed deal could include warrants granting the federal government the right to acquire shares in the airline in exchange for providing financing. This mechanism could give the government the option to take up to a 90 percent stake in Spirit after the carrier exits its bankruptcy process.
➡️ U.S. low-cost carrier Spirit Airlines has been under severe financial pressure following rising operating costs, higher fuel prices, weakening demand, and the earlier collapse of its planned merger with JetBlue. While the airline is facing the risk of liquidation, the White House said it is closely monitoring the situation. Spirit, for its part, said it continues to operate normally but declined to comment on the terms of any potential agreement.
