Southwest Airlines to Launch Airport Lounges

Southwest Airlines is preparing to roll out its own airport lounge network alongside a new premium credit card. The company’s CEO, Bob Jordan, announced during the second-quarter financial results call that preparations are underway.

Jordan noted growing interest in the airline’s Rapid Rewards loyalty program and a significant surge in credit card applications. The new premium card is expected to offer various perks, chief among them access to the airline’s upcoming lounges.

It is reported that Southwest is preparing for lounges at airports in Austin, Dallas, Nashville, Denver, and Honolulu, having already signed lease agreements to that end.

Emphasizing that the airport lounges are among the company’s top priorities, Bob Jordan stated that this project represents their most important investment following the Starlink internet system.
