Riyadh Air Expands Boeing 787 Dreamliner Order to 67 Aircraft

Saudi Arabia’s new airline, Riyadh Air, has exercised options for 28 additional Boeing 787 Dreamliners as part of its expansion strategy. The agreement also includes the conversion of 20 aircraft to the larger-capacity Boeing 787-10 variant.

The announcement also revealed a previously undisclosed purchase of 11 Boeing 787s. Once the remaining 17 aircraft are finalized, Riyadh Air’s total firm order for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner family will increase to 67 aircraft.

The airline has already taken delivery of six Boeing 787-9s and currently serves six destinations. With its expanding fleet, Riyadh Air aims to operate to more than 100 international destinations by 2030, supporting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 strategy.
