Reports of Another Explosion at Riyadh Airport: Flights Suspended

A new attack has reportedly occurred at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. According to the Associated Press (AP), citing two regional officials, the airport was evacuated and flight operations were suspended. Residents of Riyadh also reported hearing at least two powerful explosions across the city. Authorities advised passengers to check their flight status with their airlines before heading to the airport.
According to Reuters, previous missile attacks targeting Riyadh Airport resulted in fatalities, while a passenger aircraft belonging to Saudi Arabia’s flag carrier, Saudia, sustained extensive damage. Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) had confirmed that people were killed and injured in the earlier attacks.
Regarding the latest reported attack, claims that Terminal 3 was struck, that injured individuals were transported to hospitals by helicopter, and that a Leonardo AW139 helicopter registered HZ-RC9 was used for these medical evacuation flights have not yet been independently verified.
