Passenger Who Says She Was Sexually Harassed on United Express Flight Was Seated Next to the Same Man Again
A 25-year-old woman traveling on a United Express flight alleged that the male passenger seated next to her engaged in sexually inappropriate behavior while looking at her and that, despite reporting the incident, she was asked to return to the same seat.
According to NBC News, the incident occurred on Sept. 3 aboard flight UA3626 from Rochester to Newark. The passenger was allowed to stand for a period of time but was asked to return to her seat for landing because there were no other available seats.
According to the passenger, the incident was not reported to police and the man was able to leave the aircraft without facing any action. She also said a United employee later told her that proper protocols had not been followed.
United provided the passenger with a $100 flight credit for a ticket that cost approximately $400 and said it was investigating the incident.
