Passenger Caught Smoking in Singapore Airlines Lavatory

A passenger on Singapore Airlines flight #SQ836 from Singapore to Shanghai was caught smoking in the aircraft lavatory during the flight. On August 21, as the Boeing 787-10 was approaching Shanghai, the cabin crew intervened and asked the passenger to hand over his cigarettes and lighter.

After the aircraft landed at Shanghai Pudong International Airport, authorities boarded the aircraft and took the passenger away for questioning. Singapore Airlines reiterated that smoking, vaping, and the use of similar products are prohibited on its flights, adding that passengers caught smoking or vaping onboard will be banned from travelling on both Singapore Airlines and Scoot.
