Murat Şeker Comments on CFM Agreement

Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board Murat Şeker commented on the agreement between Turkish Technic and CFM International covering more than 600 LEAP-1B engines. He stated that the cooperation signed with Safran CEO Olivier Andriès and Turkish Technic CEO Mikail Akbulut encompasses engine procurement and maintenance processes, as well as a comprehensive maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) ecosystem.
Şeker said the strategic initiative would contribute to more efficient management of engine maintenance costs over the long term and help maintain operational continuity. He noted that the new engine maintenance centre to be established within Turkish Technic would bring advanced module and component repair capabilities to Türkiye.
Şeker stated that the centre would serve both Turkish Airlines and LEAP engine operators worldwide, contributing to Türkiye’s high-value-added export targets. He added that taking steps towards another centre following the groundbreaking of a facility earlier this year demonstrated their commitment to expanding engine maintenance capabilities and transforming Istanbul into a global MRO hub.
Şeker thanked Turkish Airlines and Turkish Technic executives and employees, as well as CFM International, for their contributions to the agreement, expressing his hope that the cooperation would benefit the company, the industry and Türkiye.
