A LOT Polish Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 8, registered SP-LVO, diverted to Milan Malpensa Airport in Italy after a crew member suddenly became unwell during a flight from Palma de Mallorca to Warsaw.
Around 50 minutes after takeoff, the captain requested medical assistance and the aircraft changed course, landing safely in Milan. Medical teams waiting at the airport provided initial treatment to the affected crew member.
Although Polish media reported that the individual was one of the pilots and had lost consciousness, LOT Polish Airlines only confirmed that a crew member had fallen ill. The airline did not disclose the person’s role.
After several hours on the ground in Milan, the passengers continued their journey to Warsaw once a replacement crew dispatched by the airline took over the flight. The service was completed with a delay of more than six hours, and all passengers arrived safely at their destination.
