Erling Haaland Sues Norwegian Air

Norwegian footballer Erling Haaland has filed a lawsuit against Norwegian Air Shuttle, alleging that the airline used a hairstyle closely associated with him in an advertising campaign without permission. The post at the centre of the dispute featured a Norwegian aircraft with imagery resembling Haaland’s long blond hair and distinctive ponytail added to its tail section, alongside the caption, “We’ve never looked more Norwegian.”

Although the advertisement did not feature Haaland’s face or name, his representatives allege that the airline commercially exploited an appearance closely associated with him. Norwegian said the post was intended to show support for the Norwegian national team and was inspired by social media trends. The airline subsequently removed the post.
