Bomb Threat Briefly Halts Flights at Houston Hobby Airport

Flights at William P. Hobby Airport in Houston, Texas, were briefly held on the ground following a bomb threat report.

The Houston Police Department received a call at around 6:29 p.m. on Saturday reporting that a man was behaving suspiciously and had made a bomb threat involving the airport. At the request of local law enforcement, a Southwest Airlines aircraft underwent a security screening.

Southwest Airlines said some flights were briefly held on the ground during the checks and that operations at Houston Hobby Airport later returned to normal. Houston police are continuing to investigate the incident, while no additional information has been released regarding the outcome of the security screening.
