Azerbaijan’s flag carrier, Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), has added its second Airbus A321neo to its fleet. With the arrival of the new aircraft, AZAL’s fleet has grown to 31 aircraft, while the number of new-generation aircraft delivered to the airline in 2026 has reached five.
The new A321neo will be deployed on high-demand routes to increase capacity and improve operational efficiency. The aircraft features the Airbus Airspace cabin, an inflight entertainment system, high-speed Wi-Fi, larger overhead baggage compartments and adjustable cabin lighting.
AZAL took delivery of its first Airbus A321neo in Hamburg in June 2026. Under an agreement signed with AerCap in 2024, the airline is scheduled to lease six aircraft — three A320neos and three A321neos. AerCap previously said deliveries would be completed by November 2026. According to AZAL, two additional A321neos are expected to join the fleet by the end of the year.
As part of its long-term fleet renewal and expansion programme, AZAL aims to increase its fleet to 50 aircraft by 2032.
