Body Found in Landing Gear Wheel Well of Flight Arriving from Tokyo

A male body was discovered inside the right landing gear wheel well of an AirAsia X aircraft arriving in Kuala Lumpur from Tokyo Haneda. According to flight tracking data, the incident came to light following flight #D7523, operated by an Airbus A330-300 registered as 9M-XXZ. The body was noticed by engineering personnel inspecting the aircraft.

Malaysian police stated that the individual, who carried no identification documents, is estimated to be between 17 and 25 years old. The body was transferred to a hospital for an autopsy, while an investigation has been launched to determine the person’s identity, cause of death, and how he accessed the landing gear compartment.
