US-Bangla Airlines to Expand Fleet with 21 Boeing Aircraft
Bangladeshi carrier US-Bangla Airlines has announced a major fleet expansion plan. The airline aims to add a total of 21 Boeing aircraft through leasing agreements by the end of 2027.
Under the plan, the fleet will be expanded with 15 Boeing 737 MAX 8s and six Boeing 737-800s. The additional aircraft will increase capacity on existing routes while supporting the launch of new destinations across South and Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and East Asia.
US-Bangla Group CEO Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun said the investment represents more than just fleet growth, emphasizing that the company’s long-term vision is to transform US-Bangla into an integrated global aviation group.
US-Bangla Airlines currently operates a fleet of 16 aircraft, consisting of three Airbus A330-300s, eight ATR 72-600s, and five Boeing 737-800s.
The airline is also considering investments in pilot and engineer training, as well as establishing its own maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility and cargo operations.
The expansion plan also supports the Bangladeshi government’s objective of increasing the market share of the country’s airlines on international routes from the current 12–15 percent to 50 percent by 2030.
