Water Outage Disrupts Services at Gatwick Airport

A water outage disrupted operations at London Gatwick Airport after a supply issue affected both the North and South Terminals. Passengers were unable to use the toilets, while handwashing facilities were also unavailable.

The disruption forced several restaurants and bars at the airport to suspend service, leaving passengers unable to purchase hot drinks or use water fountains. Gatwick Airport said bottled water was distributed to passengers and staff, and that the necessary measures had been put in place. Flight operations were not affected by the outage.

Water supplier SES Water said the disruption was caused by a problem at the Bough Beech Water Treatment Works, resulting in low water pressure or supply interruptions in some areas. The company said engineers were working to restore normal service as quickly as possible and apologized to customers for the inconvenience.
