Philippine Airlines has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Airbus for the purchase of nine additional A350-1000 widebody aircraft during the 2026 Farnborough International Airshow.
Once finalised, the agreement will increase the airline’s total A350-1000 orders to 18 aircraft. The first two aircraft were delivered earlier this year.
The A350-1000, designated as the airline’s new flagship, will primarily be deployed on long-haul routes between Manila and North America. Philippine Airlines plans to use the aircraft to expand its non-stop services to destinations on the East Coast of the United States and Canada.
The aircraft will feature a three-class cabin configuration with a total capacity of 382 passengers, including 42 Business Class suites with privacy doors and fully flat beds, 24 Premium Economy seats and 316 Economy Class seats.
Philippine Airlines is currently the first and only airline in Southeast Asia operating the Airbus A350-1000. The carrier also operates Airbus A330-300, A320 and A321 aircraft across its network.
