Saudi Arabia’s new premium international carrier, Riyadh Air, has firmed up an order with Airbus for six additional A350-1000 aircraft, bringing its total firm commitment for the type to 31.
The additional order is part of the agreement announced in 2025 covering up to 50 A350-1000s. Riyadh Air will become the first Saudi Arabian airline to operate the A350-1000.
The carrier plans to use the new widebody aircraft to support its international expansion and its goal of serving more than 100 destinations worldwide by 2030, in line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 strategy.
Airbus Executive Vice President Sales, Commercial Aircraft, Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, said the additional order reflects Riyadh Air’s confidence in the A350-1000’s efficiency, range, and passenger appeal.
With a non-stop range of up to 9,700 nautical miles (18,000 kilometres), the A350-1000 features latest-generation Rolls-Royce engines and lightweight composite materials, delivering up to 25 percent lower fuel burn, operating costs, and carbon emissions compared with previous-generation competing widebody aircraft.
As of the end of June 2026, the A350 Family had accumulated 1,595 firm orders from 68 customers worldwide.
