El Al Israel Airlines has ordered 12 new Boeing 787 aircraft to expand its long-haul operations, under a deal worth approximately $1.5 billion. The announcement was made on April 16, 2026.

As part of the plan, the airline will exercise its option for six 787-9 aircraft and convert four previously ordered planes into the larger 787-10 variant. Deliveries are scheduled between 2030 and 2032.

In addition, El Al holds options for six more aircraft to be delivered between 2033 and 2035. The airline aims to increase its 787 fleet to 28 aircraft, with the potential to reach 34 if all options are exercised.
