Bomb Threat on Frontier Flight: Passenger Detained After Incident
A bomb threat was reported on Frontier Airlines flight 2539 after a passenger made a threatening claim onboard.
The Airbus A320 departed John Glenn Columbus International Airport on March 29 and landed at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. While taxiing to the gate, a passenger reportedly threatened to kill another individual and claimed there was a bomb on board.
In a communication with air traffic control, the pilot classified the situation as a “Level 3 threat.” The aircraft was directed to a remote area away from the terminal, and security teams were deployed.
Following inspections, the threat was determined to be non-credible. Passengers were deplaned via stairs and transported to the terminal by buses. No injuries were reported.
The investigation is being conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and authorities stated that the incident is not being treated as a hijacking.
