Lufthansa Reduces Domestic Flights in Germany

Lufthansa has announced that it will cancel approximately 100 flights per week across Germany due to rising costs. The airline stated that this adjustment could continue until the summer 2026 season. The company noted that some routes are no longer economically sustainable.

Lufthansa’s decision comes as operational costs have increased over the past six years, influenced by high taxes imposed by the government in certain regions. The airline is also undergoing a restructuring process, reviewing its operational strategies.

Similarly, Ryanair recently announced that it would reduce its capacity in Germany by 800,000 seats for the 2025/26 winter season.
