Syrian Airlines Expands Its Fleet and Flight Network

Syria’s flag carrier Syrian Airlines unveiled its new corporate identity and modernization strategy at Damascus International Airport. The event was held in cooperation with Syria’s General Authority of Civil Aviation and Air Transport, with the first aircraft featuring the airline’s new corporate identity entering service.
Syrian Airlines CEO Anwar Akkad said the airline currently operates six aircraft and aims to increase its fleet to 12 aircraft by the end of 2026. The airline plans to increase its operational capacity through its fleet modernization program, which includes Airbus A320-family aircraft.
The airline also aims to increase the number of destinations from nine at the beginning of the year to 25 by the end of 2026. The addition of destinations such as Amsterdam, Vienna, Copenhagen and Moscow is expected to strengthen Damascus’ direct air links with Europe and Russia.
As part of its modernization efforts, Syrian Airlines is also focusing on digital services. The airline has launched a new website and is upgrading its booking, payment and electronic services. A new reservation system meeting international standards is planned to be introduced at the beginning of November.
