New Era for Airbus Board of Directors

Airbus has announced a series of changes to its Board of Directors. René Obermann stepped down as Chairman and member of the Airbus Board effective October 1, 2026, to focus on his new role at SAP. As previously announced, Amparo Moraleda has succeeded Obermann as Chair of the Board.

ASML CEO Christophe Fouquet has been appointed to the Board to complete the remainder of Obermann’s term. Michelin CEO Florent Menegaux is also expected to join the Board, succeeding Jean-Pierre Clamadieu when his current mandate ends in 2027. Fouquet and Menegaux will seek shareholder approval for three-year mandates at the Annual General Meeting in April 2027.

Airbus also announced that Amparo Moraleda and former BMW CEO Oliver Zipse will seek renewed three-year mandates at the 2027 Annual General Meeting. Mark Dunkerley has meanwhile been appointed Chair of the Remuneration, Nomination and Governance Committee and Lead Independent Director.
