Airbus and All Nippon Airways (ANA) have signed a comprehensive flight training agreement aimed at developing the airline group’s next generation of pilots. Under the programme, cadets from the ANA Group and its partner airlines will undergo ab-initio training at Sevenair Academy in Ponte de Sor, Portugal, progressing from no prior flight experience to becoming licensed pilots. The first group of 19 cadets is scheduled to begin training later in 2026.
The programme will follow a unified curriculum based on Airbus flight training concepts, methodologies and modern learning tools. According to Airbus’ latest Global Services Forecast, the aviation industry will require 633,000 new pilots worldwide over the next 20 years, including 104,000 in the Asia-Pacific region alone.
