20 Kilograms of Cocaine Found Among Blankets from Air France Flight

Approximately 20 kilograms of cocaine were discovered among blankets used on an Air France flight arriving at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport from the French Antilles. After the flight, the collected cabin textiles were sent to a laundry facility in Tremblay-en-France for cleaning, where employees discovered a cardboard box hidden among the blankets on August 22.

Before the discovery, an unidentified person reportedly entered the facility without authorisation, told employees he had come to collect an Amazon package and then fled. The box subsequently found among the blankets contained white powder and an AirTag apparently placed inside to track the shipment. Police confirmed that the substance was cocaine.

The Seine-Saint-Denis Judicial Police are investigating the senders and intended recipients of the drugs, as well as possible connections at the airport. Investigators have not yet determined whether the cocaine was placed among the cabin textiles before the flight, after arrival or during transportation to the laundry facility.

At this stage, there is no evidence indicating that flight or ground handling personnel were involved in the incident.
