Woman Found Guilty of Flying from New York to Paris Without a Ticket

A jury in New York has found Russian national Svetlana Dali guilty of boarding a Delta Airlines flight from New York to Paris without a ticket or boarding pass. The incident occurred on November 26, 2024, at JFK Airport. Dali allegedly slipped through a crew-designated security checkpoint and secretly boarded the plane with other passengers.

During the flight, Dali hid in the aircraft’s lavatory and drew the attention of Delta staff upon landing in Paris. Unable to produce a boarding pass, she was denied entry into France by French authorities.

The jury, following a trial that began Tuesday and concluded yesterday, found Dali guilty of being a stowaway. Under criminal guidelines, she faces up to six months in prison, though no sentencing date has yet been set.
