Virgin Australia Receives Its First Embraer E190-E2 Aircraft

Virgin Australia has taken delivery of the first of eight Embraer E190-E2 jets at a ceremony in São José dos Campos, Brazil. The aircraft, acquired through US-based lessor Azorra, will be the first of its type operated by a major airline group in Australia.
Nick Rohrlach, Group Executive of Virgin Australia Regional Airlines, said the new-generation jets will replace the current Fokker 100 fleet, offering lower fuel consumption, reduced emissions, and greater passenger comfort. According to Embraer, the 100-seat E190-E2 delivers up to 30% fuel savings compared to the Fokker 100.
