
United Airlines has acquired the final two gates previously operated by Spirit Airlines at Chicago O’Hare International Airport for $30 million. The acquisition is recorded as part of United’s move to expand its operational capacity at the airport.
United CEO Scott Kirby stated that the airline will continue executing its growth plans in the Chicago market, emphasizing the strategic importance of O’Hare operations for the company.
The Chicago market remains a key hub for airlines in terms of loyalty program revenues and premium corporate travel demand. With this latest move, United has further strengthened its presence at the airport.
