United Airlines Flight Delayed 4 Hours After Cabin Crew Dispute

A United Airlines flight scheduled to operate between Des Moines and Chicago was delayed for four hours after a dispute broke out between two flight attendants before departure. The incident was confirmed by Men’s Journal and Paddle Your Own Kanoo.

According to Paddle Your Own Kanoo, the cause of the argument has not been disclosed, but an internal United message stated:

“A disagreement occurred between two flight attendants. The Duty Manager is replacing the entire crew, and the flight will be reassigned.”

As a result, all passengers were asked to disembark, and a new crew was assigned to the flight. Originally scheduled to depart at 11:26 a.m. local time, the aircraft finally took off at 3:24 p.m., arriving at Chicago O’Hare Airport at 5:09 p.m., four hours behind schedule.

Similar Incidents in the Past

While such disputes among flight crews are rare, similar cases have occurred before. In July 2022, a disagreement between Alaska Airlines pilots caused a flight delay, and in 2023, a SkyWest Airlines flight was canceled after two flight attendants refused to work together.
