UAV Debris Washes Ashore in Ünye, Ordu

A piece of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was found on the Black Sea coast in the Ünye district of Ordu. Initial assessments suggest that the object washed ashore may belong to a Geran-2–type kamikaze drone.

➡️ The incident occurred in the morning hours along the الساحil area of Fevzi Çakmak Neighborhood in Ünye. After citizens spotted the object on the shore and reported it, police, gendarmerie, and Coast Guard teams were dispatched to the scene. In the first examination, teams determined that the object was a part of a UAV.

Security measures were taken in the area and an investigation was launched. It was reported that teams from the Underwater Defense Group Command in Istanbul would be deployed to the region, and after a detailed technical inspection, the piece would be destroyed in a controlled manner.
