
Türkiye’s Ministry of National Defence announced that six F-16 fighter jets and air defence systems have been deployed to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus as of today, as part of a phased security plan aimed at strengthening the TRNC’s security amid recent regional developments.
In its statement, the ministry said the move is part of a broader step-by-step security planning process. It also noted that additional measures will continue to be taken if deemed necessary, based on further assessments of developments in the region.
