Trump’s Transportation Secretary Duffy and FAA Administrator Bedford Announce Prime Contractor for New Air Traffic Control System
U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy and FAA Administrator Bryan Bedford announced that Peraton has been selected as the prime contractor for modernizing the air traffic control system. The project, launched with a $12.5 billion historic payment under President Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill”, will replace the outdated air traffic control systems.
Duffy stated, “We’re excited to work with Peraton because they share President Trump’s goal of modernizing our skies safely and efficiently.” FAA Administrator Bedford emphasized that an additional $20 billion would be required to complete the project.
Peraton, with its experience in collaborating with federal agencies, is well-equipped to complete the project on time and efficiently. The new system will provide fewer disruptions, increased efficiency, and improved safety, while also supporting the future growth of the national airspace.
Currently, parts of the existing infrastructure have been replaced with fiber, satellite, and wireless networks, and new radio systems and advanced radar systems are being installed.
