Trump: New Airport Duty for ICE and TSA

U.S. President Donald J. Trump announced that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) teams will begin operating at airports starting Monday. Trump stated that this move is intended to support the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) personnel.

In his statement, Trump acknowledged that the current TSA staff continue their duties under challenging conditions, emphasizing that ICE teams will contribute to operations on the ground. He also addressed political debates, noting that some critics have raised objections due to immigration policies.

Meanwhile, Trump argued that criticism of ICE’s upcoming work may increase, but he expressed confidence in the success of the operations. The announcement also mentioned that Tom Homan was involved at the beginning of the process.

The impact of the new arrangement on security and immigration control processes at airports will become clearer in the coming days.
