Tailwind Aircraft Stranded in Iran Returns to Turkey

A Boeing 737-400 aircraft belonging to Tailwind Airlines had been stranded in Iran since June 12 due to the ongoing Iran–Israel tensions. Following a challenging diplomatic and operational process, Tailwind Airlines’ dedicated technical and flight crew successfully brought the aircraft back to Turkey safely.

All official procedures for the aircraft, which was located at Tehran Airport in Iran, were meticulously carried out, and once conditions allowed, a special team was dispatched to the region. After the necessary maintenance and inspections, the aircraft landed in Turkey on the morning of July 5, 2025.

Tailwind Crew Welcomed with Flowers
The pilots, technical team, and operations personnel who returned the aircraft to Turkey were welcomed with flowers in Istanbul. The airline’s executives expressed their gratitude to the team for their dedication and professionalism throughout the process.
In a statement made by Tailwind Airlines officials, the following remarks were included:
“Even under international crisis conditions, maintaining flight safety and operational excellence remains a top priority for us. The safe return of our aircraft stranded in Iran is a concrete reflection of this principle. We thank our entire team and the relevant authorities who contributed to the process.”
