China’s Joy Air Suspends All Flights Indefinitely

China-based regional carrier Joy Air has suspended all operations indefinitely as of April 27, 2025, due to severe financial and operational challenges. Headquartered in Xi’an and backed by the Shaanxi provincial government, the airline primarily served secondary and tertiary cities across western and central China. However, growing competition and declining passenger demand have jeopardized the airline’s long-term viability.
