SWISS Welcomes Its First Airbus A350 “Lausanne,” Named by Tennis Legend Stan Wawrinka

SWISS has officially welcomed the newest member of its fleet — the Airbus A350 “Lausanne” — in a special naming ceremony attended by Swiss tennis icon Stan Wawrinka, who proudly assumed the role of the aircraft’s godfather.
“I’m incredibly proud to be godfather to SWISS’s first Airbus A350,” said Wawrinka. “Especially because it now bears the name of my hometown, Lausanne.”
The event was joined by members of the SWISS Management Board, marking a significant milestone in the airline’s modernization journey. The Airbus A350 represents the start of a new era of sustainable and passenger-focused travel for SWISS, featuring the airline’s newly redesigned SWISS Senses cabin that offers greater comfort, spaciousness, and individuality.
Adding to its distinction, the aircraft features a special “SWISS Wanderlust” livery, celebrating Switzerland’s rich diversity through depictions of its iconic landscapes, cultural heritage, and natural beauty.
