STARLUX Takes Delivery of Its First Airbus A350-1000

Taiwan-based STARLUX Airlines has taken delivery of the first of its 18 ordered Airbus A350-1000 aircraft, becoming the world’s 11th airline to operate the largest variant of the A350 family. The new A350-1000 will join the 10 A350-900 aircraft already in the fleet and will operate on prestigious long-haul routes from Taipei to Europe and North America, as well as select destinations across the Asia-Pacific region.

With the introduction of the new aircraft, STARLUX also unveiled a striking new exterior livery that reflects its innovative spirit and corporate identity. The design combines carbon fiber motifs—referencing the advanced composite materials extensively used in the aircraft’s structure—with the airline’s signature visual elements. The prominent “1000” marking on the fuselage emphasizes that the A350-1000 is Airbus’s largest aircraft currently in production and highlights its role as the new flagship of the STARLUX fleet.

STARLUX currently operates an all-Airbus fleet consisting of A321neo, A330-900, and A350-900 aircraft. The A350-1000 will naturally complement this existing fleet. In addition, the airline has placed an order for 10 A350F freighter aircraft to support the future expansion of its cargo network.

The A350 sets new standards for intercontinental travel as one of the most modern widebody passenger aircraft in the world. Featuring an all-new design, the A350 stands out with advanced technologies, aerodynamic efficiency, and performance-focused solutions. Thanks to its new-generation engines and extensive use of lightweight materials, it offers approximately 25 percent reductions in fuel consumption, operating costs, and carbon dioxide emissions compared to previous-generation competitor aircraft. The Airspace cabin concept, with wider seats, higher ceilings, and advanced ambient lighting, further enhances passenger comfort.

Like all Airbus aircraft, the A350 can already operate with up to 50 percent Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). Airbus aims to make all of its aircraft 100 percent SAF-compatible by 2030.

As of the end of November 2025, the A350 family has received approximately 1,500 orders from 66 customers worldwide.
