Spirit Airlines To Continue Flights Under Bankruptcy Protection

US-based low-cost carrier Spirit Airlines filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection for the second time last week. The company has secured approval from the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, allowing it to continue operations without disruption.
In a statement, Spirit Airlines confirmed that passenger tickets, loyalty programs, employee payments, and supplier services will remain unaffected. The management emphasized that the ruling represents an important step in the restructuring process.
As part of its restructuring plan, Spirit is expected to reduce fleet and maintenance obligations. The airline aims to achieve a more sustainable financial structure and strengthen service quality in the long term.
