Spain’s OCU Files Lawsuit Against Ryanair Over Cabin Baggage Fees

The Spanish consumer organization Organización de Consumidores y Usuarios (OCU) has taken legal action against Ryanair for charging passengers for cabin baggage.
In its statement, OCU explained that the lawsuit is based on regulations set by Spain’s Ministry of Social Rights, Consumer Affairs, and the 2030 Agenda. The goal is to establish that charging for cabin baggage is an unfair practice that violates consumer rights. The case aims to prevent Ryanair from continuing this fee policy.
OCU also noted that airlines facing penalties have appealed the decision in court, meaning they can continue charging cabin baggage fees until the legal process is finalized.
