Southwest Airlines’ Boeing Deliveries for 2026 May Fall Below Expectations

Southwest Airlines is scheduled to take delivery of a total of 167 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft in 2026 under its contract with Boeing. Of these orders, 101 are 737-7s and 66 are 737-8s.

However, the delivery plan carries uncertainty, especially for the 737-7 model, as it depends on the FAA certification process. According to the company’s internal expectations, only 66 units of the 737-8 are likely to be delivered in 2026, while the 101 units of the 737-7 are not expected to be delivered within the year. This suggests that despite the contract, deliveries could be delayed depending on Boeing’s production and certification timeline.
