SmartLynx Transitions to Single-Type Aircraft Operations

Latvia-based SmartLynx has announced that it will transition its entire fleet to Airbus A320 family aircraft by mid-2025. As part of this shift, the airline will transfer its Boeing 737-8 aircraft to other carriers within the Avia Solutions Group.

Known for its ACMI operations, SmartLynx stated that this strategic move aligns with its growth plans and the group’s overall objectives.

Additionally, the airline confirmed that it will gradually scale down its A321 cargo operations.

This fleet transition is part of Avia Solutions Group’s broader restructuring strategy, which involves managing multiple airlines across different countries and flexibly reallocating aircraft among its subsidiaries.
